Hans and I went on a long hike and wanted to take a little notebook with us to write about our daily adventures. I found these mini moleskin notebooks that were the perfect weight and size for our journey and then decided to cover the front and back with some birch bark.
1. Supplies: A notebook, a glue stick, scissors and birch bark. If you live in Washington state, birch bark is fairly easy to find. Just browse around your neighborhood for a bit and I am sure you will stumble upon a birch tree. If you don’t live in the Northwest, try using madrona or sycamore bark.
2. Glue: Separate your bark strips into single layers and start gluing and layering them onto your notebook so that none of the original cover surface shows through.
